Capital for bold ideas: How Wolt Capital, powered by finmid, helped Burger Guy launch new ventures
About Burger Guy
Andreas did not start with a business plan. He started with grit.
After an injury ended his football ambitions, he worked his way through restaurant kitchens in the UK – from dishwasher to chef – while supporting himself through school. Later, he moved to the US to work as a sports coach, but something did not feel right. He quickly realized he loved sports for himself, but teaching others was not his passion.
Traveling and working abroad gave Andreas clarity: he wanted independence and ownership. Back in Cyprus, he decided to revive his grandfather's abandoned coffee shop and turn it into a burger restaurant.
With just €1,000 and very minimal equipment, Andreas opened his first burger shop in a small village of 4,000 people. That is how Burger Guy was born. Word of mouth spread quickly, and within months, the tiny shop was serving hundreds of burgers a night.
Andreas reinvested every euro to open a bigger restaurant in the city center. Success brought growth, and with growth came even larger ambitions.
Challenge: Turning new ideas into reality
Once Burger Guy had successfully scaled, Andreas began thinking beyond burgers. He started exploring new concepts, and one of them was a Neapolitan pizza restaurant. He even trained in Naples for a month to master the technique.
However, opening a new concept required significant capital, and at that moment, Andreas did not have the funds available.
Solution: Capital built for ultra-fast growth
That was when Andreas discovered Wolt Capital and accepted an offer. Shortly after, €30,000 appeared in his account, ready to be invested in his new business venture.
"Compared to banks, which require endless documents, it was incredibly easy,"
says Andreas.
Andreas used the €30,000 immediately. The funding covered upfront costs such as staff and space, allowing the concept to go live without any delay.
The result was instant success. The pizza place started generating revenue almost from day one, and the investment quickly paid for itself.
The impact of Wolt Capital, powered by finmid, was clear: it allowed Andreas to turn a bold new idea into reality quickly and easily, without having to overthink or slow down.

Results: New restaurants, new concepts, bigger reach
Today, Andreas runs multiple restaurant concepts across Cyprus and has expanded Burger Guy beyond borders with a food truck in Abu Dhabi.
Next on the roadmap? An entire drive-through food park in Cyprus, and expanding globally.
Wolt Capital, powered by finmid, helps Andreas:
-
•
Launch new concepts faster
-
•
Expand into malls and high-traffic areas
-
•
Reinvest continuously without slowing momentum
"For me, it feels like "free money" because the investment starts generating profit immediately, covering the repayments,"
says Andreas.
With new ideas already in motion, Andreas continues to invest in quality, people, and innovation.
